We will all die, life has an expiration date, it is temporary.
“Memento Mori” is a reminder of mortality, and a reminder of my mother. Also also coming from a Latin phrase “Remember that you will die.”
With “Memento Mori” I make the visualization of her memories, her death and the absence.
Time goes by, but I can’t remember how her voice sounds.
Nothing is supposed to last forever.
Memories can trick you, and fade away.
Time is never gone, and the past is always something that will be.
I will take the absence of my mother with me to the future, the presence of her stays in the past.
Sometimes I remember she won’t see the sunrise again
She won’t feel the sand that I carefully wash off at home.
My mom doesn’t exist anymore between life and death; she now only exists in my head.
